A charming and humorous drama, Nothing to Laugh About follows the story of a man who sets out to rediscover his laughter.
40-year-old Kasper Berntsen (Odd-Magnus Williamson, Kon Tiki) is a successful stand-up comedian who has everything he could wish for: regular gigs at the city's most prestigious comedy club and a fulfilling relationship.
But one day, his entire life changes. Kasper’s show is cancelled and when he gets home that same night, his girlfriend leaves him. To make matters even worse, he is faced with the worst nightmare imaginable when he receives a devastating diagnosis from his doctor. Now left to cope with a complete mess, Kasper must ask himself: give up or fight on?
In his search for identity he discovers new sides of himself, giving new life to his comedy as he uses humour as a disarming and life-giving force.
Written by and starring Norwegian comedian Odd-Magnus Williamson and directed by Petter Næss, this heart-warming tragicomedy balances humour with seriousness, to explore how Kasper copes with a serious illness, gains newfound self-belief and finds laughter again.
